Abstract

Adélia Prado é reconhecida no campo literário como poeta, considerando uma ampla recepção sobre suas obras. Contudo, há também sua produção de literatura infantojuvenil. Na obra Quando eu era pequena (2006), Prado revela sua infância por meio da personagem Carmela. Dessa forma, o presente artigo objetiva compreender como se dá a construção dessa autobiografia; tecer um breve retrato das relações entre o público infantil, a autora e as ilustrações; analisar a presença das ilustrações da obra em questão. Portanto, tornou-se necessário trilhar pela metodologia de cunho qualitativo e bibliográfico, bem como criar categorias de análise que abordassem as principais temáticas do texto, as quais são: sagrado, família, relação com a poesia. Tendo isso em vista, a base teórica conta com autores como: Figueiredo (2013), Sagae (2008), Camboim (1998), entre outros teóricos relevantes para o recorte da pesquisa. Desse modo, o presente trabalho se destaca ao debruçar-se sobre uma vertente de Adélia Prado que ainda é escassa de estudos no universo acadêmico, assim como analisa o trabalho artístico da ilustradora Elisabeth Teixeira, no que tange à composição estética da obra.
