A Compresive Review on Cynodon Dactylon

Abstract

Widely distributed throughout India, Cynodon dactylon (L) Pers is a perennial herb of the Poeaceae family. It goes by several names in multiple Indian languages, such as Dhro in Gujarati, Durva in Marathi, Durba in Bengali, Garichgaddi in Telugu, Arukampillu in Tamil, and Shataparva in Sanskrit. Cynodon dactylon is important in traditional medical systems and ethnomedical practices. Because of its many medicinal benefits, it is used as a powder, paste, or juice to treat a variety of illnesses.Numerous metabolites, including proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, flavonoids, carotenoids, alkaloids, and glycosides, are present in Cynodon dactylon. This review aims to cover the body of knowledge regarding Cynodon dactylon that is currently available.pharmacognostic characteristics, historical applications, chemical components, an overview of its many pharmacological and pharmacognostic actions, and a quick rundown of the patents connected to it.
