This repository contains the climate model data needed to produce the figures in the main text of Kok et al., Global and regional importance of the direct dust-climate feedback, Nature Communications, 2018. These data are used by the Matlab scripts provided in https://github.com/jfkok/Koketal_DustClimateFeedback_NCOMMS2018_MatlabCode This repository includes the following data: CESM_AVHRR_comparison.zip. This contains CESM model simulation data for the BASE-AVHRR and PHYS-AVHRR runs. This archive also contains the file tnatl.dust, which was obtained from the https://doi.pangaea.de/10.1594/PANGAEA.855141 archive that accompanied Evan and Mukhopadhyay (2010). These data are used in Fig. 1a. AERONET_data.zip. This contains the AERONET data files used in the Matlab scripts (see above) to generate Fig. 1b in the main text. CESM_AERONET_comparison.zip. This contains the daily-averaged CESM simulation data for the BASE-AERONET and PHYS-AERONET simulations. These data are used in the Matlab scripts to produce Fig. 1b. CLM4-CN_future.zip. This contains the annually-averaged CLM4-CN simulation data from the BASE-Future and PHYS-Future simulations. This file also contains the ECHAM5 forcing files used to drive CLM4-CN.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
