Altitude Dependence of Thermospheric Composition and Temperature Response to Sudden Stratospheric Warming Observed by ICON

Abstract

'Omni' is the geomagnetic indices for Figure S2. MERRA2 1979-2023 is zonal mean temperature at 10 hPa (~30 km) at 90 N and zonal mean zonal wind at 10 hPa at 60 N for Figure 1. ICON Limb FUV is the original data from ICON limb observed neutral composition and temperature profiles. pICON and pTIEGCM is the composition and temperature data transformed to the constant pressure levels from ICON observations and TIEGCM simulations for other Figures.
