
Psycholinguistics, which studies the interaction of language and cognitive processes, plays an important role in the context of sports activities. This article examines psycholinguistic aspects that influence athletes, including cognitive processes, motivation, self-esteem and communication. A review of the literature and empirical studies show that language can significantly influence athletic performance and the psychological state of athletes. Examples from various sports are reviewed, and strategies for using language to improve training and competitive performance are discussed
