
Este estudio comparó la nutrición enteral continua hasta la extubación con el ayuno de 6 horas antes de la extubación en pacientes en unidades de cuidados intensivos. Se realizó un ensayo de no inferioridad en 22 unidades en Francia. Los resultados mostraron que la nutrición enteral continua fue no inferior al ayuno en términos de fracaso de la extubación en 7 días y podría ser una alternativa en esta población. This study compared continuous enteral nutrition until extubation with a 6-hour fasting period before extubation in critically ill patients in intensive care units. A non-inferiority trial was conducted in 22 units in France. Results showed that continuous enteral nutrition was non-inferior to fasting in terms of extubation failure within 7 days and could be considered as an alternative in this patient population.
