L'Effet du risque de variance du rendement pécunier sur l'investissement éducatif

Abstract

Le choix de la formation est l'une des décisions les plus importantes que l'individu est amené à faire au cours de sa vie puisque ses répercussions sont d'une ampleur très considérable. De plus, l'investissement éducatif est une variable importante sur le plan individuel et social. Il est donc intéressant de comprendre comment parvient l'individu à faire son choix de formation. La science économique a contribué de manière très significative à ce sujet à travers la théorie du capital humain et la théorie du signal. Selon la théorie du capital humain, le choix éducatif est un investissement risqué réalisé de manière rationnelle par un individu qui juge les différentes options selon le rendement espéré. Ce travail présente une synthèse d'un certain nombre de travaux théoriques et empiriques qui ont étudié l'effet du risque de variance du rendement pécunier sur l'investissement éducatif. Malgré les résultats contradictoires des différents travaux, nous pouvons dire que la balance penche plutôt vers un effet négatif du risque qui freine et décourage l'investissement éducatif.
