MIEJSCE ŚWIECKICH KATOLIKÓW W ŻYCIU PUBLICZNYM POLSKI LUDOWEJ W ŚWIETLE PUBLICYSTYKI BOLESŁAWA PIASECKIEGO Z LAT 1945-1979

Abstract

Chociaż sami komuniści traktowali go instrumentalnie to udało mu się stworzyć katolicką enklawę w socjalistycznym państwie. Słowa kluczowe: Bolesław Piasecki, Stowarzyszenie PAX, świeccy katolicy, katolicy postępowi. Abstract: The article concerns Bolesław Piasecki's post-war publicist related to his vision of the role that lay Catholics were to play in the political system of the People's Republic of Poland. The aim of these activities was an attempt to involve Catholics in the construction of a new political system. To thus create a new trend of bipolar socialism based on Marxism and Catholic social teaching. The problem in implementing this idea was the distrust of Catholic circles for this type of symbiosis and the reluctance of communists to this vision. Throughout the post-war period, Piasecki hoped that he would be able to implement his idea, which would culminate in the creation of a Catholic party. Therefore, he was involved in all socio-political activities in the years 1945-1979, being an ally of the Polish United Workers' Party. Although the communists themselves treated him instrumentally, he managed to create a Catholic enclave in a socialist state. Keywords: Bolesław Piasecki, Association PAX, lay Catholics, progressive Catholics.
