Comparison of equity and investment life insurance

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of two types of life insurance: equity (analogue of unit-linked) and investment life insurance, with an emphasis on their comparative analysis in the context of the Russian market. The paper considers the conceptual difference between equity life insurance, which assumes the active participation of the insured in the investment process without guaranteed return of capital, and investment life insurance, which combines financial protection with the possibility of additional investment income while maintaining a guaranteed minimum. The changes in legislation aimed at the development of equity life insurance, including the introduction of tax incentives and management company licenses for insurers are also highlighted in the paper. The author reviews the practical aspects of the implementation of equity life insurance.
