Abstract Digital transformation, resulting from the intersection of elastic cloud, big data, artificial intelligence, and internet of things technologies, has started a new era in the industrial world. Digital transformation, also described as the 4th Industrial Revolution, has affected all sectors, and has also caused significant innovations in journalism practices. In addition to traditional journalism studies in digitalized media organizations, new trends such as internet journalism, robot journalism, immersive journalism, drone journalism, video game journalism and podcast journalism have emerged. In this study, where these new trends in journalism were examined in the context of actor network theory and gatekeeping, interviews were conducted with 3 journalists selected by random sampling method, using the semi-structured in-depth interview method, one of the qualitative research methods. The aim of this study is to learn the differences in changing journalism practices after digital transformation and to determine to what extent the innovation dilemma affects the media sector. According to the data obtained from semi-structured in-depth interviews conducted with two journalists working in newspapers affiliated with different agencies and a local journalist, it was determined that there were significant changes in journalism practices after digital transformation, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic process. In addition, it has been determined that there has not been a destructive evolution in newspapers that were late in digitalization, but that these organizations fell behind organizations that completed their digitalization processes faster and actively used social media and disappeared over time.
