Resistencia a la racionalidad instrumental moderna: la huida del biotecnopoder

Abstract

La Modernidad está vinculada con los conceptos de progreso y bienestar. El primero ha sido ampliamente criticado como concepto asociado a una visión lineal de la Historia basada en un paradigma etnocéntrico occidental y en la creencia en un crecimiento indefinido asociado al trinomio tecnociencia-capitalismo-imperialismo. Sin embargo, el bienestar en sí mismo ha recibido críticas mucho más profundas y complejas desde el ámbito de lo que se ha dado en llamar la biopolítica, como una visión que, inaugurada por Michel Foucault, ensaya un análisis de la cara más oculta del bienestar: el control. Para Foucault la biopolítica supone una extensión del control del poder hasta la propia vida a partir de la Modernidad, en particular la ilustrada.
