Identifying Developer Personas Could Create Better Research Software (RS) Development

Abstract

This poster was created for the 2024 EPCC PhD seminar event showcasing EPCC PhD research projects. It focuses on results gathered from a pilot study into exploring GitHub repository data to find whether Developer Personas can be identified from real-world research software codebases, and how these might be described from developer/codebase interactions. The goal was to find whether 'superstar developers' could be identified from repository data, and whether this might be an initial 'developer persona' to explore and describe further.
