Samsung INR21700-50E Capacity and HPPC tests

Abstract

Samsung INR21700-50E Capacity and HPPC tests Dataset containing 444 samples of Hybrid Pulse Power Cycle (HPPC) tests of Samsung INR21700-50E cells from former micromobility applications. The cells are presorted with different State of Health categories: 95% SoH <= SoH < 100% and 90% <= SoH <= 95%. Furthermore, some new cells were tested for comparison. The dataset contains charge and discharge tests for 143 cells, combined with a HPPC discharge microcycle at every 10% State of Charge decrement. The remaining cells are tested with a single HPPC microcycle. The following test protocol was used for the 143 cells: Wait until the temperature inside the chamber, reaches thermal equilibrium, i.e., 25 °C Charge the cell in CC/CV-mode with C/2 and Icutoff at 98 mA Wait at least one hour or until thermal equilibrium Discharge the cell with C/5 until 2.5 V is reached (obtain discharge capacity of the cell) Wait at least one hour or until thermal equilibrium Charge the cell in CC/CV-Mode with C/2 and Icutoff at 98 mA Wait at least one hour or until thermal equilibrium Perform a HPPC in combination with discharge Perform a HPPC micro cycle with SOC at 100 percent (shutdown criteria must be softened for this step) Discharge by 10% SOC until 2.5 V is reached Perform a HPPC micro cycle (switch polarity after reaching 50% SOC). Stop the cycle if 2.5 V is reached. Wait for 30 minutes after the micro cycle Try to discharge until 2.5 V is reached Wait until thermal equilibrium is reached Charge the cell in CC/CV-mode with ¾ C and Icutoff at 98 mA Charge and discharge were recorded with 100 Hz. HPPC cycles were recorded with 1 kHz. Temperature was measured at the middle of the cell. Recorded values: Time [timestamp], ClimaTemp [temperature sensor of climate chamber], I [A, current], Itarget [A, setpoint for current], P [W, power], Q [As, charge, total], Qneg [As, negative charge], Qpos [As, positive charge], Temp[1] [°C, cell temperature], U [V, cell voltage], hp_pulse [variable for start and end of HPPC pulses]
