Abstract

In den vergangenen Jahren hat die Forschung im Bereich der Künstlichen Intelligenz (KI) beeindruckende Fortschritte verzeichnet. Die daraus hervorgegangenen Werkzeuge haben mittlerweile ein Reifestadium erreicht, das ihren Einsatz auch in der Genealogie nicht nur möglich, sondern äußerst fruchtbar macht. Dieser Artikel stellt spezifische KI-Anwendungen in der Genealogie kurz vor. Exemplarisch wird die Verwendung von ChatGPT zur Analyse von Todesanzeigen detailliert beleuchtet. In recent years, research in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) has made impressive progress. The resulting tools have now reached a stage of maturity that makes their use in genealogy not only possible but also extremely fruitful. This article briefly introduces specific AI applications in genealogy. As an example, the use of ChatGPT for analysing obituaries is examined in detail.
