La periferia urbana de Granada y su dimensión arqueológica. La Zãwiya del «CobertizoViejo» (La Zubia, Granada)

Abstract

Nuestro trabajo pretende tener una doble pretensión. Por un lado, la más evidente, exponer resultados de una investigación arqueológica en un edificio singular, un cortijo conocido como el «COBERTIZO VIEJO, en el camino de Granada a La Zubia, sobre el que siempre se han tenido sospechas de su pasado islámico, aunque nunca precisadas ni confirmadas, y que tras su estudio arqueológico han sido confirmadas. Por otro, poner de manifiesto una vez más, el delicado equilibrio en el que se encuentra la conservación del Patrimonio Histórico-Arqueológico, siempre al borde de la crisis pese a una legislación de protección de las más avanzadas de nuestro entorno y un esfuerzo ilusionado de los profesionales implicados en ello. No obstante algo falla en el sistema cuando edificios de la singularidad del que nos ocupa, contando la máxima categoría de protección urbanística, aplicándose la normativa andaluza sobre protección y siendo objeto de una investigación arqueológica, fue salvado in extremis.
