HOFFMANN (1924, 1925a-l) was the first to summarize his beetle collections from Lake Neusiedl from the period 1900 to 1925. He listed 27 species and one subspecies of Histeridae. In the present work, the current state of knowledge about the Histeridae of the Neusiedler See nature and landscape protection area and the surrounding area is presented. For this purpose, the author evaluated material and data from Linz, Innsbruck, Vienna and private collections as well as his own material and the work of HOFMANN (1925d). 66 species are registered in the checklist, 36 of which were last found at Lake Neusiedl before the year 2000. A temporal assignment cannot be made for 9 species due to a lack of dating. The checklist shows the gaps in knowledge in the faunistic work of the Histeridae.
