Abstract

ABSTRACT Today, the processes of reading, writing and calculation (PLEC) constitute essential pillars that guarantee correct performance of the teaching-learning process. Therefore, the objective was focused on applying the pre-test and post-test design of an education program, to promote PLEC in an Educational Institution in the city of Lambayeque. For this, a mixed study was applied, where the sample consisted of 20 students from the 1st grade of the primary education level of the educational institution, to whom the pre-test and post-test design was applied. Thus, the data processing was carried out through descriptive statistics, which covered three dimensions: the education of the hand based on the graphics; the education of perceptive abilities and their organization with a view to learning reading and writing; and organization of logical and topological relationships and their organization with a view to calculation. The results, once the design is applied, favor the criterion achieved in its entirety to the three dimensions in 85% for the first dimension, and in 75% for the 2nd and 3rd dimension, concluding that the education program positively benefits the PLEC. In this way, enhancing writing, reading and calculation skills is an essential aspect, which must continue to be implemented efficiently to guarantee quality education.
