Database containing information on 40 freshwater fish species distribution across Spain at 1km grid cell resolution 1. Main file: Species_distribution_UTM_prob1000.csv The information was obtained through the development of Species Distribution Models using BIOMOD 2 (Thuiller et al. 2009) calibrated and validated on the most complete databases on fish occurrences across Spain. The database contains in the rows all UTM1x1 km within the river network, as defined by Spanis Government (Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica), and for each species includes information on the habitat suitability derived from our models (ranging from 1-1000, being 1 low habitat suitability and 1000 high habitat suitability). The projections of habitat suitability values were restricted to the hidrological basins within the natural distribution range for each species (i.e., in the hidrological basins where there was at least one presence occurence of the fish species). The hidrological basin used can be found here: https://www.miteco.gob.es/es/cartografia-y-sig/ide/descargas/agua/demarcaciones-hidrograficas-phc-2015-2021.aspx For more information about the models, see: Lanzas et al., 2022 2. Species_code_information.csv included the relation between the code used in the main database and scientific name of the species 3. UTM zip file Shapefile with the grid cells.
