INFORMED CONSENT IN DYSTANASIA IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC

Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the importance of informed consent in dysthanasia during the pandemic, considering the relevance of patient autonomy and their right to information in complex medical decisions. Given the current context of technological advancements in healthcare and the need to ensure the dignity and rights of terminal patients, it is essential to understand how informed consent can contribute to an ethical and humanized approach in these scenarios. The objectives of this study are to: analyze the influence of the evolution of medical science on the prolongation of the terminal state; discuss the ethical and legal principles governing the patient's right to self-determination in dysthanasia situations; explore the relationship between language, law, and social relations in doctor-patient communication; and identify the implications of informed consent in the practice of dysthanasia during the pandemic. The research will be conducted through a comprehensive literature review, with a critical analysis of scientific articles, relevant legislation, and official documents related to the topic. Perspectives from bioethics, medical law, and health communication will be considered to support the discussions and conclusions of the study.
