Quo Vadis kulturwissenschaftliche Digital Humanities?

Abstract

Kulturwissenschaftliche und insbesondere empirisch-kulturwissenschaftliche Perspektiven sind in den deutschsprachigen Digital Humanities (DH) auch zehn Jahre nach der ersten DHd-Konferenz noch eine Ausnahme. Das Panel diskutiert, wie kulturwissenschaftliche DH ausgestaltet sind und welche Richtungen hier künftig eingeschlagen werden können. Dabei werden konkrete methodische Entwicklungen vorgestellt und verbunden mit konzeptionell-theoretischen Überlegungen. Es wird beleuchtet, was relevante Bereiche der DH in den empirisch-kulturwissenschaftlichen Disziplinen sind oder sein können und welche Rolle die DH aktuell in den Kulturwissenschaften spielen. Damit verbunden steht die Frage danach, wie sich dies in näherer Zukunft ändern könnte, welche Schritte dafür zielführend sind und was die Kulturwissenschaften aktuell an einer stärkeren Einbindung in die DH hindert. Eng damit zusammen hängt die Identifikation von neuen Perspektiven, die empirisch-kulturwissenschaftliche Forschung in die DH einbringen und weiterentwickeln. Ziel ist es, sowohl methodologische Potentiale zu identifizieren als auch theoretisch-konzeptionelle Perspektiven herauszuarbeiten, die kulturwissenschaftliche DH weiter ausdifferenzieren.
