Doing Media. Zum Verhältnis von Materialität und Medialität aus praxistheoretischer Sicht

Abstract

Tag für Tag arbeiten Lehrer*innen und Schüler*innen in den vielen Klassenzimmern rund um den Globus. Ich meine damit aber nicht nur die Praktiken des Lehrens und Lernens im engeren Sinne, sondern eine weitaus grundlegendere Arbeit, die auf den ersten Blick wenig Aufsehen erregen mag. Die Rede ist von medialen Praktiken, mit denen materielle Dinge zu über sich hinausweisenden Medien werden. Medien sind – so die hier vertretene These – keine gegebenen Entitäten, sondern Ergebnis eines doing media. Am Beispiel ethnografischer Forschungen zum mathematisch-naturwissenschaftlichen Schulunterricht zeigt der Beitrag Potentiale einer praxistheoretischen Perspektive auf Medien auf. Im Folgenden skizziere ich zunächst Eckpunkte einer praxistheoretischen Perspektive auf Medien und Medialität (2.). Darauf aufbauend illustriere ich die Perspektive an empirischen Fallbeispielen (3.). Der Beitrag schließt mit einem Plädoyer für eine sozio-materielle Bildungsmedienforschung (4.).
