Efficient derivation of optimal signal schedules for multimodal intersections - SUMO Experimentation

Abstract

Experimental setup to use the SUMO traffic simulator to evaluate the expected number of queued vehicles at specific urban intersections with tram lines having right of way. The results of the evaluation of the scenarios, which were considered in this repository, were used to validate the accuracy and complexity of the approach that the Omnibus Library implemented to derive optimal semaphore schedules for multimodal intersections. The complete approach is presented in the paper titled "Efficient derivation of optimal signal schedules for multimodal intersections" authored by Nicola Bertocci, Laura Carnevali, Leonardo Scommegna, and Enrico Vicario, and accepted for publication at the journal Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory.
