SMOC1: A Target Enabling Package

Abstract

SMOC1 (SPARC related modular calcium binding 1) is an amyloid plaque associated protein that is implicated in AD pathogenesis and may function as a viable biomarker of disease progression. However, little is known about the biological role of SMOC1 in the central nervous system, nor what role it may play in AD pathogenesis. The aim of this project is to produce TEP reagents to help further understand the biology of SMOC1 in Alzheimer’s disease.
