Issues and topics selected for empirical investigations and implementations in 13 EU-countries and for deliberative formats at EU-level based on an agreement with the Funding Authority

Abstract

This deliverable presents the arguments and procedural steps that have led to the selection of three topics to be used as focus of the deliberative formats that we will develop and test in WP3 of the REAL DEAL project. The topics are: mobility, food and health, and financing the European Green Deal. They will be combined with cross cutting issues, namely gender equality, the leave-no-one-behind principle, and the future of democracy in the face of global change. A list of more than 25 items for discussion will be used to tailor topics and issues in view of the situation of different countries. These topics, issues, and items resulted first from scientific arguments, second from exchanges in the consortium, and finally from extremely fruitful dialogues with EU officials to whom we want to express our gratitude.
