CIVIL EDUCATION IN THE CONTEXT OF MULTICULTURALISM

Abstract

The article addresses the challenges and means of forming civic identity in the conditions of a multiculturalsociety. Emphasis is placed on the potential of socio-political disciplines in shaping a citizen of a democraticsociety characterized by a culture of communication, tolerance, civil responsibility, awareness of one's belongingto a specific cultural community and historical tradition, and recognition/acceptance of other socio-cultural experiences.
