Potential sensitive species in GBIF: data managements

Abstract

We explored the data managements informed in the occurrence records found in GBIF of a list of potential sensitive species (see 10.5281/zenodo.10674399). The following filters were used: year >= 1970 occurrencestatus = PRESENT basisofrecord = "FOSSIL_SPECIMEN","LIVING_SPECIMEN","MATERIAL_SAMPLE" hasgeospatialissues = false hascoordinate = true Only those in: "NT","VU","EN","CR" The datasets describes, for each record, the number of occurrences with the Darwin Core Terms: Data Withheld, Data Generalization, Uncertainties in Meters, Coordinate Precision, and Footprint WKT. The sensitive species Institutional/ Organizational Lists (see 10.5281/zenodo.10674399) describe sensitivity for particular countries. Therefore, in the present dataset we mention if the record is located in a country in which the species is considered as sensitive according to the mentioned Institutional/ Organizational Lists used (updated 2022).
