This article reveals the features of using inductive and deductive methods of teaching a foreign language, gives a clear understanding of these terminologies. The issues of the effectiveness of using this technique are covered, its advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. The issue of developing critical thinking and self-knowledge among students when using this technology in their studies is revealed.
