The Shield of Self-Compassion: The Relation between Appearance-Based Childhood Traumatic Events and Adolescents' Body Shame

Abstract

he present study focused on the relation between the centrality of early traumatic events related to physical appearance and early, middle, and late adolescents’ body shame. We also investigated the potential moderating role of self-compassion in the relation between the centrality of events related to physical appearance and body shame.
