
This dataset contains a list of watertight manifolds and their corresponding tetrahedral volumetric meshes (.ele, .node) for a set of neuronal morphologies with diverse morphological types. The morphologies used in this study can be made available upon a reasonable request. The watertight manifolds are created with the Voxelization mesher in NeuroMorphoVis (Abdellah et al., 2018) as a new method to convert abstract representations of neuronal morphologies into realistic mesh models that can be used to perform reaction-diffusion simulations. The spiny morphologies are synthesized using a digitally constructed circuit from the Blue Brain Project (Markram et al., 2015). Spine geometries are segmented from an EM stack of a cortical tissue of a P14 rat (Coggan et al, 2018). Users can test the implementation using public morphology databases, such as NeuroMorpho.Org or ModelDB. For visual analytics purposes, some meshes are exported into .vtk format, which can be visualized in Paraview. Users can also use Blender to visualize the .stl files.
