Stamps and seals of the Dulaurier collection

Abstract

A dataset of stamps and seals detected within the scope of the project "Valorisation numérique du fonds Dulaurier", led by Calfa and GREgORI with the support of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF Datalab, 2022-2023). As part of the project, HTR processing of 14 manuscripts is carried out. These microfilmed manuscripts represent a large sample of Armenian historiography. They also contain several collections of unpublished correspondence, such as the Collection of correspondences of Catholicos and Armenian prelates with priests of Tabriz (Arm. 167). The transcriptions are available on Gallica and searchable in the GREgORI online corpora. To know more about the project (in french) : https://calfa.fr/blog/39 The dataset is composed of 188 stamps and seals. The majority of Armenian seals are located in the manuscript Arm 167 (BnF-btv10087187), since it is a collection of correspondence. The other documents essentially contain various variations of the stamps and seals of the National Library of France (formerly the royal library and the imperial library).
