Abstract

SOESILADEEPAKIUS UNCINATUS SP. NOV. (FIGS 38–40, 52) Type: Holotype: male from Base de Operações Geólogo Pedro de Moura, Urucu, Coari, Amazonas, Brazil, coordinates -4.895139, -65.188389, 11.-20.vii.2003, A.B. Bonaldo, J.D. Dias & D.D. Guimarães, deposited in MPEG 11385. Etymology: The specific epithet is a Latin adjective meaning ‘clawed’ and refers to the hook present on the retrolateral femoral apophysis. Diagnosis: Males of this species can be distinguished from males of the other species by the triangular apophysis at the base of the embolus (Fig. 38) and by the curved tiny apophysis on the tip of the RFA (Fig. 40). Description: Male (MPEG 11385). Total length: 2.17. Carapace light brown, 1.12 long, 0.78 wide, 0.42 high, darker on posterior borders. Ocular quadrangle 0.61 long. Anterior eye row 0.89 wide, posterior 0.78 wide. Clypeus densely covered with white long scales. Chelicera yellow. Endite, labium, and sternum yellow. Palpal femur dorsally covered by a fringe of long white scales and ventrally with a pair of keels (Fig. 52). Palpal tibia with no conspicuous projection; tegulum elongate, with prolateral distal flap; embolus straight arising from the proximal tegulum, with two small apophyses on the proximal base and a larger apophysis at the retrolateral side. Legs as in S. gasnieri sp. nov. Abdomen yellow, with three sparse, dark brown transverse stripes; with a dorsal scutum covering all its length; two pairs of tufts of white scales on dorsal surface and another above the anal tubercle; ventrally with a small, light brown scutum covering the posterior half. Scales as in S. gasnieri sp. nov. Spinnerets yellow, variegated with dark brown. Female. Unknown.
