Abstract

Aleiodes trisphaeropyx sp. nov. (Fig. 181) Holotype ♀, Thailand, Karnchanaburi, Khuean Srinagarindra NP, Tha Thung-na/Chong Kraborg, 13–20.xi.2008, 14° 29.972’ N, 98° 53.035’ E, 210m, Malaise trap Boonnam 7, Phumarin (collection code T4432) (voucher BCLDQ01643, Genbank JQ388329) (QSBG). Body length 4.1 mm, fore wing length 2.9 mm and antenna length mm. Antenna broken, with more than 30 flagellomeres. Median flagellomeres approximately 1.5 x longer than wide, rectangular. Occipital carina complete and strong, joining hypostomal carina ventrally. Mesopleuron coarsely sculptured, largely rugulose but longitudinally striate dorsally, precoxal sulcus deep with few strong vertical carinae. Propodeum with midlongitudinal carina only on anterior 0.2, posterior corners produced, angular. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 3 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 2 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 1.5 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.4 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.05 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu absent. Hind coxa strongly transversely striated on posterior half, basally striate only dorso-medially. Apex of hind tibia without a comb of modified setae medially. Claws without conspicuous pecten. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite well-developed, anteriorly straight, posteriorly virtually transverse. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite faint on anterior 0.5 only. Etymology. In allusion to the group of Aleiodes species formerly placed in the subgenus Tetrasphaeropyx which have a similar carapace of 4 tergites.
