Abstract

Aleiodes deyoyoi sp. nov. (Fig. 62) Holotype ♀, Thailand, Phetchabun Province, Thung Salaeng Luang NP, pine forest Gang Wang Nan Yen, 27.xii.2002, 16° 35.805' N, 100° 52.286' E, 726m, Pongpitak & Sathit (voucher BCLDQ00766, Genbank JQ388387) (QSBG). Body length 5.4 mm, fore wing length 4 mm. Antenna with at least 40 flagellomeres [incomplete in holotype]. Median flagellomeres 1.8 x longer than wide. Frons with short, distinct sublateral carina parallel to eye anteriorly. Occipital carina with lateral arms converging towards a point but distinctly obliterated medially. Mesopleuron rugose-coriaceous anteriorly, aciculate posteriorly, precoxal sulcus moderately impressed, foveate rugose, speculum small but present. Propodeum with midlongitudinal carina present on basal 0.7, replaced by transverse carinae posteriorly. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 1.3 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell with distinct glabrous lozenge-shaped zone. Fore wing vein 3-SR 2.1 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 0.95 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.2 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.65 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu pigmented, antefurcal. Apex of hind tibia with comb of specially modified, adpressed setae. Claws with pecten of 7 or 8 long, fine, pale brown teeth on basal lobe, these splaying and distinctly separated, and the penultimate ones longest. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite moderately strongly produced, almost transverse posteriorly. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite complete. Etymology. Named after the character the Kompt de Yoyo in the Terry Pratchett Discworld novel. Notes. Close molecularly to several specimens from Taiwan.
