Ioditis capnobactra Meyrick 1938

Abstract

Ioditis capnobactra Meyrick, 1938 (Figs 50, 116) Ioditis capnobactra Meyrick, 1938. Institut des Parcs nationaux du Congo belge 14: 7. Brown 2005, World Catalogue of Insects 5: 394. Holotype female. Label data (9): " Holotype I., capnobactra Meyr. "; "Musée du Congo, Tshamugussa Bweza, (2250), 08–15.viii.1934, G. F. de Witte, Parc Nat. Albert, 518"; " Congo belge: P.N.A., Tshamagussa (Bweza), 2250 m. 08–15.viii.1934, G. F. de Witte: 518"; " E. Meyrick det. 1937: Ioditis capnobactra Meyr. "; " R. Dét., 4079, S"; "P365"; "Type"; " ♀ "; " MRAC / KMMA 00441 "; specimen ID: RMCA ENT 000005035 (Fig. 50). Female genitalia (Fig. 116). Ovipositor fairly long; apophyses long; sterigma small, weakly sclerotized, with scobinate posterior part; ductus bursae very slender, broadened proximally where ductus seminalis originates; signa two. Remarks. Described from the holotype only. Brown (2005) included it in "unplaced Tortricinae ". However, the signa are of Olethreutinae type, more similar to Grapholitini than to Eucosmini. The female genitalia are similar to Thylacogaster Diakonoff, 1988 (see fig. 113), but the habitus is quite different.
