Abstract

Spongia equina subsp. cerebriformis var. typica Hyatt, 1877 Spongia equina subsp. cerebriformis var. typica Hyatt, 1877: 520, pl. 15 fig.7. Spongia obscura Wiedenmayer, 1977: 56. Hyatt’s name is not an available name (as it has a fourth name, ICZN art. 45.5). As proposed above, I assign this material from Florida to Spongia (Spongia) obscura Wiedenmayer, 1977.
