Abstract

Fig. 4. LC–MS/MS analyses of sunflower root exudates. Sunflower seedlings were hydroponically grown in (A) tap water (—P, —N), (B) tap water supplemented with 0.53 mM Na2HPO4 (+P, —N), (C) tap water supplemented with 1 mM NH4NO3 (—P,+N) or (D) modified 40% Long Ashton nutrient solution (+P,+N). LC–MS conditions are described in the experimental section. These figures are overlaid MRM chromatograms of the transition at m/z 361> 97 for heliolactone (6) and at m/ z 233> 187 for costunolide (3) with intensities of 4.33 × 104.
