Abstract

This is the archived repository for codes of the paper "Unveiling the Role of Climate in Spatially Synchronized Locust Outbreak Risks". This study developed a data-driven workflow to unravel the complex relationship between locust and climate dynamics across multiple spatial and temporal scales. We implement modern dimension reduction techniques - (mrDMD) - to extract dominant spatio-temporal dynamics of locusts. These dynamics allow us to identify hot spots of locust infestation and quantify the within- and cross-country compound risk of locust outbreak.
