
Corporate Social Responsibility is a widely used concept in India in all sectors. In India banking sector especially public sector banks plays an important role, not only in developing the economy but also in serving society. This study mainly focuses on analyzing the corporate social responsibility done by the public sector banks in the last five years. The focus areas in which CSR activities are done differ from bank to bank. It has been found that generally most of the banks are focused on activities like education, health, and rural development, but they are also restricted to certain fields. There are need for better CSR activities by banks.
