The usage of linear permanent-magnet actuators, and their associated industrial drives, increases in a wide variety of applications, due to the exhibited high force density, robustness, and accuracy. Usually, the stroke of the linear actuators is reduced, so they are used as electromechanical positioning systems. In this work, the control of the one degree of freedom electromechanical system, through the fuzzy logic, is proposed. This system incorporates a permanent magnet tubular linear motor commanded by an industrial positioning drive. The use of the fuzzy logic control allows to develop supervision controllers that associates to the linear controllers of the industrial position drive, allows to the system control has adaptive characteristics. As the control system is non linear, the supervisory controller allows the on-line adjustment of the compensators gains of the drive controller. In this way, the improvements in dynamics characteristics of the electromechanical system positioning are expected. The supervisory control to development will be implemented in a Real-Time digital controller, using the LabVIEW® software that uses a graphical programming language, allowing the completely integration with the communication hardware.
