LERNEN DURCH LEHREN AM BEISPIEL EINES LANDESKUNDLICHEN PROJEKTES / LEARNING BY TEACHING BASED ON A GERMAN CULTURE AND CIVILIZATION PROJECT

Abstract

Schlüsselwörter: Lernen durch Lehren (LdL), Landeskunde, Projekt, DaF Abstract: The focus of this article is on the presentation and use of the didactic method learning by teaching in classes of German culture and civilization. In the first part of our paper, we researched how this topic is dealt with in specialized literature and what developments it has undergone over time. Then we followed closely what role this method and project-based learning could have in class. By using the learning by teaching method, we wanted to encourage our students to deal more intensively with the subject of German culture and civilization and to study more responsibly. As part of a project, we systematically integrated learning by teaching in class and organized a meeting between students and pupils at the end of the semester, which was mutually beneficial. Our students had to pass on their newly acquired cultural knowledge to younger learners (high school students). In this way, we managed to achieve most of the goals we set ourselves, which was confirmed by the results of the surveys given to the students and pupils. Keywords: learning by teaching, German culture and civilization, project, German as a Foreign Language
