This is the first time a butterfly aggregation of the ithomiine species Epityches eupompe was observed. It was seen in July 2017 at Intervales State Park, São Paulo state, Brazil in one of the last large remnants of the Atlantic Forest. Intervales is also known for its particularly high richness of birds and receives birdwatchers all year. A short scientific study was conducted - see "More information" at the end of the video. Visits to the butterfly aggregation are restricted and must always be followed by a park guide.
A subtitle file is available, and the video can also be found at https://youtu.be/bUO4kpYS2uo
