Embalados individualmente en cajas de madera, salían del puerto de Sevilla con destino a San Felipe de Portobelo (Panamá) desde donde, todos o una parte de ellos, continuarían viaje probablemente a Lima, capital del virreinato del Perú, lugar en el que tenía establecida su sede comercial Martín Sanchez de Solís que fue el encargado de la adquisición y el transporte de los libros. In 1601, twenty-four volumes with music by Francisco Guerrero were embarked on the ship San Francisco, including sixteen copies of the Liber vesperarum (Rome, 1584). Individually packed in wooden boxes, they left the port of Seville bound for San Felipe de Portobelo (Panamá) from where, all or a part of them, would probably continue their journey to Lima, capital of the viceroyalty of Peru, the place where they had established its commercial headquarters Martín Sanchez de Solís who was in charge of the acquisition and transportation of the books.
