Abstract

En marzo de 1899, Charles Lawrence Hutchinson, presidente del Chicago Art Institute donaba a la Newberry Library de Chicago seis libros de polifonía que había adquirido en México (Case MS 5148). Estos libros procedían del convento femenino de la Encarnación de Ciudad de México y en ellos el compositor español mejor representado es Francisco Guerrero con un importante número de composiciones de distintos géneros musicales. In March 1899, Charles Lawrence Hutchinson, president of the Chicago Art Institute, donated six polyphony books that he had acquired in Mexico to the Newberry Library in Chicago (Case MS 5148). These books came from the female convent of la Encarnación in Ciiudad de México and in them, the best represented Spanish composer is Francisco Guerrero with a significant number of compositions of different musical genres.
