
Introdução: O vaginismo é uma disfunção sexual que envolve a contração involuntária dos músculos da vagina, tornando a penetração impossível. Essa condição pode afetar a qualidade de vida das mulheres e pode ser causada por uma variedade de fatores, incluindo motivos biológicos, psicológicos e socioculturais devido ocorrências de traumas na infância, abuso sexual, falta de conhecimento sexual, problemas genéticos e fatores etiológicos. Objetivo: Buscar referências literárias de tratamentos fisioterapêuticos para o vaginismo, seus benefícios e relevância para resultados eficientes. Métodos: Pesquisa bibliográfica e coleta de dados nas bases: Scielo, Lilacs, Pubmed e Google Acadêmico, publicados entre 2009 e 2023. Resultados: Especialistas recomendam uma abordagem multidisciplinar que inclua a fisioterapia como parte importante do tratamento para dor pélvica crônica e síndrome feminina. Conclusão: A análise apresenta os benefícios significativos no tratamento da dispareunia e do vaginismo feminino através da fisioterapia.
