Provenance : Mexique, Etat de Puebla ? Population/culture : Mixtèque Période : 1000 - 1400 AD ? Matériaux : bois, métal, résine, pierre Dimensions : L. 20 cm ; H. 19 cm ; P. 7,6 cm N° inv. : 87/1064, Dépôt de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles APC 196 Les Mixtèques excellaient dans la technique de la mosaïque de turquoise. Ils taillaient cette pierre semi-précieuse ainsi que d'autres matériaux comme le coquillage sous forme de tesselles, qu'ils pressaient dans une matrice de résine appliquée sur le support en bois. Ces masques proviennent pour la plupart de caches et de grottes de la région de Tehuacan, dans lesquelles ils avaient été déposés comme offrandes. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
