Abstract

Oeuvre en chêne brûlé peint de 141 cm de hauteur réalisée par Jesus Echevarria (01/01/1916 à Barambio-Espagne- 06/02/2009 à Cambo Les Bains (Pyrénées Atlantiques - France). La sculpture portant le N° 5 fait partie d'un ensemble de 10 tableaux illustrant le ballet d'Igor Fiodorovitch Stravinsky (17/06/1882 Oranienbaum (Russie) - 06/04/1971 New-York (USA)). ***La musique de Stravinsky fut initialement écrite pour un ballet ; Le retour du printemps se fêtait donc dans la Russie primitive par des rites barbares. La magie était présente. Des cérémonies incantatoires appelaient les morts à la fête. Une jeune vierge était choisie parmi celles qui s'offraient en sacrifice. Cette cinquième pièce évoque la danse incantatoire, l'invitation aux ancêtres. Elle se compose de trois frises parallèles. Il n'y a que des jeunes filles parmi ces danseuses communiquant avec l'au-delà***.
