Abstract

The repository contains the data and example scripts to reproduce a systematic micromagnetic analysis of magnetic hysteresis in magnetite nad serves as the supplementary material for the paper "Magnetic Hysteresis Properties of Magnetite: Trends with Particle Size and Shape" Files: truncated_octahedron_prolate_by_AR.cubit - Coreform Cubit script to create the prolate finite element meshed geometriestruncated_octahedron_oblate_by_AR.cubit - Coreform Cubit script to create the oblate finite element meshed geometries Example_MERRILL_Script.txt - Example MERRILL script to simulate the major hysteresis loops Hysteresis_Data.db - SQLite binary file containing room temperature magnetic hysteresis loops and associated data. Paleointensity_Transient_Data.csv - The transient hysteresis (Thys), Arai plot curvature, and palaeointensity data used in Figure 11. M1_AR2p50_Size125_i08.mp4: Domain state evolution through a major hysteresis loop from positive saturation to the zero-field state and the transient branch sweep back to saturations. This is for a 125 nm pastilce with an aspect ratio of 2.5. The video illustrates near reversible single vortex nucleation and denucleation that yields negligible transient hysteresis behvaior.
