Abstract

* **Museo de procedencia:** Museo de la Huerta de Alcantarilla * **Nº de inventario:** MEHMU-E-00-0002 * **Datación:** 1907 * **Descripción técnica:** Caldera metálica, generadora de vapor, alimentada por diversos combustibles como madera y carbón y utilizada para conservar al vacío alimentos en conserva. El vapor generado se dirigía a una cámara cerrada ubicada en la parte superior, que mediante las tuberías exteriores lo conducía a una caldera externa, haciendo llevar a ebullición el agua. En esa caldera se introducía una estructura metálica en forma de jaula que contenía los botes de conserva que eran hervidos, a fin de lograr una mayor perdurabilidad de los alimentos. Sus dimensiones son de 5,10 metros de largo, 3,20 m. en su lado más alto , 1,55 m. de diámetro en la parte trasera y 1,85 m. en la delantera. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
