The astronomical Libraries are those which more than any Others had to adapt over the years their functions, locations and services to the profound changes imposed by technological progress and changing needs of patrons. The Padua Astronomical Observatory's Library is an example of this ability to adapt through its succession of periodical displacements inside the Specola and the Carrarese Castle.
