Minoan double axe (diplos pelekis)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labrys Labrys is, according to Plutarch, the Lydian word for the double-bitted axe. (in Greek it was called πέλεκυς, pélekus). In ancient Crete, the "double axe" is not a weapon but an important sacred symbol of the Minoan religion. It only accompanies female goddesses, never male gods.
